Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Mt Tamalpais, CA. It was a great hiking experience with these beautiful landscape scene.

Time

It was around 8 something 15 mins before or after sunset.

Lighting

Almost every photographers know about the magic hours (Golden hour), but I feel the blue hour can brings a moody feeling to the pictures.

Equipment

I had Fujifilm XT1 with 50-120 f2.8 on a Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod, plus a remote control. Also, I used Cokin 3 stops and 1 stop graduated filter to balance the shadow and the highlight.

Inspiration

I seen many mistery and roman cloudy picture before. But this one was powerful, it shows the wave of the clouds like a gigantic river.

Editing

Yes. It was sample highlight adjustment and contrast.

In my camera bag

I used to carry my Tripod, XT1, 16-55 F2.8 and 50-120 F2.8 with all the filters.

Feedback

Taking landscape photo is not hard, just needed to catch the magical hours and walk or hike. Go outside peoples!
