Behind The Lens

Location

Zolotaya Dolina, Primorsky Krai, Russia From a practical point of view, the portrait is made in the shadow of a five-story house against the backdrop of a cherry blossoms. Due to the clear and bright sky there was a sea of light, thanks to the shadow there were no strong glares and overexposed pictures)

Time

Sunny morning)

Lighting

The soft light obtained on this photo is achieved due to natural conditions: the shadow of the building, the clear and bright sky, without the use of any external light sources or other illumination.

Equipment

Canon 6d + Canon 135mm f2l, exposure 1/1250, f/2.5

Inspiration

Incredibly beautiful bloom of cherry trees, fields and forests. It's too great to pass by and not create something beautiful! love spring ^^)

Editing

I'm did color correction in Capture One, in Adobe Photoshop I modify the color, the frame volume, the minimal retouching

In my camera bag

Canon 6d, Canon 135mm f2l. Sigma Art 35mm f1.4, Canon 35mm f2.0, tripod, macro rings, macrolenses, flares, radiosynchronizers, umbrellas, reflectors, softboxes and much more (depending on where and what I shoot). But this is in cases where you really need a lot of work or shooting conditions are very unpredictable (in the backpack there is always a waterproof raincoat, spare batteries, and a lot of media). In 80% of photo sessions I use the minimal set of equipment in the form of camera and lens)

Feedback

Do what inspires you! A beautiful photo can be done anywhere, like in the mountains, in the middle of the lavender field, and literally under your nose! I remind you that this picture was taken in an ordinary garden near the house, and the size of the bush of the decorative cherry did not exceed a couple of meters, which did not stop him from serving as a beautiful and romantic background for the portrait of this beautiful girl! To make the portrait look more impressive, you can catch random emotions of the model, relax it by talking, so that it looks natural, joking and catching smiles (they are beautiful!). Make portrait more interesting will help and a combination of shades in clothing: beige, pink, tender-violet. You can choose whether to use complementary color solutions to better select a model on the background, or monochrome to make a softer and delicate picture. ) Use portrait lenses! 85, 100, 105, 135 mm are ideal for close and half-height portrait, help to separate the model from the background, transmit the microcontrast and do not distort the facial features. It is very important! If you want to make more fragile full-height photos of the model with a very long legs - shoot wide-angle optics: 28 mm, 35 mm. Sit down lower and enjoy the aerospace length of the legs! : 3) But I did not go there) The most important thing for a good portrait is a successfully chosen time, place, model, camera, but more importantly - a good mood and readiness for experiments! You do not need to strive to make the best shot, but make it with all your heart - be sure! Create and create, and you will succeed! Do not hang your nose, even if you do not get it right away: a few more attempts, and you will make your own unique masterpiece that will inspire millions of photographers around the world to create even more magical and beautiful pictures! P.S. It's best to shoot in the golden hour at sunrise and sunset, shoot in the shade on a bright afternoon, if you shoot with portrait optics - use a well-looking in blurred background (reflections in the glass, the petals of the colors look beautiful almost always!). I hope these tips will help you at least somehow!))
