Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the bayside beach at Carrum. Carrum is on Port Philip Bay Melbourne Australia

Time

I took this shot late afternoon as the sun was going down

Lighting

I wanted this to be a near silhouette shot looking into the setting sun.

Equipment

My camera for this shot was a Canon 1Ds-MkIII with a Sigma 12-24mm, set at 12mm, hand held down on my knees to get the handrail in line with the horizon

Inspiration

My son was walking down the middle of the Storm Drain Outlet with our little dog & liked the smallness of them with the expanse around them

Editing

Developed the RAW once in Capture One Pro

In my camera bag

I always have my Canon 1Ds-MkIII with my 100mm f2.8 L Macro on it. I have my Sigma12-24mm, Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II, & my Canon 70-200mm f2.8 L II.

Feedback

Use the widest angle lens you have & get down low to emphasize the effect of the wide angle.
