Behind The Lens
Location
This is a photo of my kids, normally my favorite models, and it was taken at the Molhe Leste beach, in Peniche.Time
We normally go out to the beach around 11 AM, in the summer, and let the kids play in the sand before lunch. I always take my camera because I love to take photos of the beach and it's surroundings. The kids were particularly happy playing with each other I just had to capture those moments.Lighting
There is not much to say about the lighting, the day was not very bright because of some clouds floating in the sky and I positioned myself in a certain way so that the light could be in front of them.Equipment
This was a shot on a Canon 70D, with an 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Tamron lens. I only used a parasol in the lens...Inspiration
I saw the joy and the complicity between them and that just makes my day. With that kind of inspiration it just made me feel great and I just knew that I had to capture some of the moments. Photography is about moments, just get them!Editing
Whenever there are emotions involved I go for the B&W, it just boosts the emotions. In this photo I tried to keep the photo smooth so I didn't push to much of the contrast and lowered the exposures a little bit so that it capture viewers the eye.In my camera bag
I just bought a new and bigger bag!!! :) Inside I always carry my Canon 70D and my three lenses. The Tamron 16-300mm 3.5/6.3 is my usual lens because of the different themes that I like to capture. I also have a Canon 10-18mm 4.5/5.6 for my landscape photos and the capture some close ups on architecture and city photos, it's a great lens to make some "off the regular" photos. Last but not least my 50mm 1.8 prime that day by day is becoming my next best friend, Its great for portraits and has a delicious bokeh. A also carry some filters and a remote trigger, I never know if I might need it.Feedback
Motion and emotion photos are not easy to get, one must stay sharp and must go along with the action. Don't go just for the one photo of the one moment because you will be disappointed for sure, take several photos as you go along so that you can get the best out of your camera and capture the photo you want. My best advice is, don't ever give up!!
