My weiner dog Beau is always as photogenic than myself. Whenever I point my camera at her she always pause for a short seconds then gave me a look in the eyes like she's telling me "click it, I'm Elegant."

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my house at Kabankalan, Philippines. In the table where my dog loves to sit every afternoon waiting for me to go outside.

Time

In the afternoon 4 o’clock exactly the right time I’ll have my merienda which means snack in before evening. She waits for me there because she knows I’m giving her half of my food. I never reget tho.

Lighting

It didn’t really matter how the lighting was but this is the exact view everytime I exit from the door and she’s just there sitting on a half shade with our garden in the background.

Equipment

I used Fujifilm XT10 with fujian 35mm f1.6. No tripod and no flash. I just bring out my camera knowing my lovely dog model waiting outside about to have her stomach full.

Inspiration

Her name is Beau. She’s sweet and clingy whenever I’m around. I loved dogs they’re one of the most beautiful creatures ever exist. I really wanted to print the photo because as they say printing your photo is also immortalising it too. So, that inspired me to take this shot where we both had our best bonding moments.

Editing

Just simple saturation in lightroom and tonal adjustments.

In my camera bag

My Fujifilm XT10, two lenses, fujinon 18-55mm f2.8-4 and fujian 35mm f1.6. A 9stops ND filter and a fibre cloth for cleaning. That’s all.

Feedback

I won’t give any technical advide since I’m sure everyone has their own desire how they want to capture their dog. So the simple thing is, appreciate their existence and love them like humans. You know, if you want a remembrance of them as a photo you should capture it with love because that’s what makes it valuable.
