Desert Jewel

A Costa's Hummingbird was feeding on an early Spring blooming Desert Paintbrush. I heard him before I spotted him near a hiking trail in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area outside Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 3rd, 2018 @ 7:35 am.

I was shooting with a Canon 5DSR with a Canon EF 100-400mm lens. It was shot at 330mm, f-8, 1-80 second, ISO 400. I was very lucky he was hovering when I took the photo!
