Nature's Columns

Getting out to the incredible shores of this lake in California was not the easiest task. Attempting the 4WD main path in the ‘ole rental car didn’t go so hot the first couple of times. Then trying an alternate route we gave that rental a fabulous new pin-stripe paint job bombing through the brush. And of course at the end of it all we just ended up hiking out to this spot which I must say is pretty amazing. With a storm blowing in from the mountains, serious wind was producing 4 foot waves on the lake crashing into these stacked marshmallow columns. You can see how they collapse into those rock discs in the bottom left. A new and unique place we loved shooting. Those columns are around 12’ high here. More to come from this spot!
