Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my backyard, orchard. I raise heritage poultry as a hobby and "Pretty Boy" is one of my Golden Pheasants.

Time

This photo was taken early afternoon. I had just gotten a new lens so I wanted to go and try it out. I was playing with the settings and experimenting with distance and he walked I to where I was shooting.

Lighting

Natural evening light, out of the shaded areas.

Equipment

This image was captured with a canon1200d, 55-250mm lens

Inspiration

I was inspired to take the shot because he has beatiful feathers and I loved the way the light captured their colours.

Editing

I used Lightroom to tweak the colours.

In my camera bag

I always take my other two lenses with me canon 10-18mm and the kit lens aswell as a wheat bag to use as a tripod so I can get shots from the ground with my birds. I tend to use the wide angle lens with them usually as a lot of the time they get to close looking for treats.

Feedback

Be patient, let the area become used to you.
