Location

I took it on a carnival cruise ship on its way to Cozumel, Mexico. It’s outside on the deck.

Time

It was at night when the blue lights came on. I was so excited to see the lights in because I knew I’d get some cool pictures.

Lighting

I usually create warm tones pictures so to have a picture which is entirely created with blue light was a bit different for me.

Equipment

I just used my Nikon D80 which is the first camera I owned. It was passed down to me by my Nana.

Inspiration

The blue lights definitely inspired me.

Editing

I added some light leaks in the PicsArt app to add interest and a bit more of a playful tone to counter his sad expression.

In my camera bag

I usually have a uv protector because I love the colors it conjures and I keep my extra batteries because my Sony A6000 dies so quickly.

Feedback

Play around with vivid colors and bright lights. Don’t be afraid to add some extra colors post-production.
