This photo give me a lot of memories. It was taken in a day passed shooting this amazing building called MAAT, located in Lisbon. I spend a lot of time testing differents spots, this one is my favourite.Time
This photo was taken during the portuguese winter at 18, just after a great sunset. It was a warm day with 15 degrees Celsius by night.Lighting
There was a lot of things that could be worth, in particular at the sunrise and sunset, like in this photo. This building is made by ceramic, the lights reflect in it changing its colour. I was very surprised by the drastic "skin changes" of MAAT. This version remember me a white snake that bring to life in the Lisbon's street.Equipment
To take this photograph I work with a Canon 6D and a 24-70mm 2.8L Canon lens set at 28mm focal length. 15 seconds of suspense in a portable tripod in f 18 and here it is!Inspiration
My inspiration was born when I've started to search something different to capture in the city Lisbon. I passed a lot of time in this city, known for its awesome and clear light, so I start shot my favourite buildings at different hours of the day. When arrived at the MAAT, I fault in love with the project, the structure and the idea of the architect. The building seems alive, this wave continue changing its color like the sea in front of it.Editing
The raw file give me an extra help to recover some night colors lost at the time. I'm usual to try put the same conditions that I saw during the photo shoot. In this case I just lighted up the shadows to mark up the level of humidity in the sky.In my camera bag
I have normally two favourite sets for work, the set depends on the goal. When I am traveling with a bag, I try to bring a more versatile and light set wich Canon 6D and the 24-70mm 2.8L. When the trip include a more long period, I bring up the Canon 5D with the 70-200mm 2.8L and sometimes replacement lens, same mm but Sigma. More rarely I use a 20-35mm 3.5 Canon, 85mm 1.4 Canon.Feedback
To take this kind of photo, observe is the first goal. The natural light give to the landscape a defined shape, you can use it to improve your subject. If you find a good spot to capture a good photograph you just have to wait the best day timing to do a great work.
