This photo was taken at our acreage in Alberta.. Stetson is one of our horses and in this picture he was having a blast running around after being let into a new pasture.Time
I took this picture mid morning. My husband said he was going to let the horses into the bigger pasture so I grabbed my camera and headed over there. I knew they would be tearing around once let out. They did not disappoint.Lighting
On this day it was a bit washed out, so I did a bit of editing by darkening it a bit. I usually try and have the lighting so it's not backlit unless I want that effect.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5100. An oldie but a still a good camera. I also used my Nikon zoom 300XInspiration
Knowing the horses would be let into a large pasture, I knew there'd be some shenanigan's. So as the gate was opened I was ready.Editing
On this one I darkened it a bit so it wasn't so washed out.In my camera bag
I normally carry an extra charged battery, and extra SD card and a more wide angle lens. I usually have my zoom on at all times. Much easier to capture wildlife when it's far away.Feedback
My advice would be to always carry your camera with you, mine is always in the car with me when I go anywhere. Also be prepared. Make sure everything is set to go.
