This photo was taken from my back yard where it landed on my coriander that I grow. I then saw this beautiful beauty so peaceful on the ground. I crept behind it I took one good shot without it taking flightTime
This was taken on the 20th of April on a Friday afternoon. I just got out of the house with the urge to find something, anything I could take a picture of because they is sometimes that is the only thing I can of.Lighting
Capturing an intricate, magnetizing attractive picture was the main goal. Every pattern had to be seen so the light on that day was just enough so I needed not to add any lighting or else it would look pale. There was actually a bit of darkening to add more definition.Equipment
Being an amateur photographer wanting to learn more I only used a camera and my steady hands. I used a Sony Cyber-shot camera from my cousin.Inspiration
Growing into photography inspired me. From taking shots of mould, lichen, moss, plants, flowers, trees, rocks, rusted fences and food etc I seemed to get a bit bored and wanted to try something new. This picture is the reason why I have since loved taking pictures of insects and birds.Editing
Oh yes, pictures of insects, especially animals with patterns need clear definition. So a little shadowing is ideal in my opinion.In my camera bag

Always be optimistic about finding colorful beautiful insects. It should not dampen your spirit to not find what you are looking for, patience is key and you can capture such a picture in gardens with colourful flowers that attract insects. Do not freak out when you a bizarre insect you have never seen before, be willing to take a risk.
