I don't understand the question marks... it is beautiful and if it is my comment on my being glad that it is black and white. There is a lot happening in this picture and color would distract from the beauty. I love it!

So sorry for the question marks I answered on my phone and put a smiley which was transferred into a question mark when posted! Much appreciated comment !

Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the New Forest, Hampshire in England UKTime
The photo was taken early evening simply because of the awesome cloud that had developed that time of day.Lighting
Shooting with the sun behind me made sure the horse although very close to the lens was well exposed. Working towards the sun with an extreme wide-angle lens can be very hard to control flare, especially on a bright sunny day.Equipment
I used a very old Sony a900 full frame handheld with an extreme Sigma 12mm Wide-angle lens which required me to be almost directly at the feet of the pony to get the abstract angle and frame the other horse in the shot. Using the wide-angle made it an easy job to get the extreme depth of field required.Inspiration
A love of the ponies that stroll the New Forest was my main reason but I wanted to make it different from the norm by adding distortion with the wide-angle at close quarters.Editing
No post processing was required in the shot apart from a RAW conversion in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I try to keep as little in my bag as possible, just spare batteries, cards and something to eat! I always carry two cameras around my neck mounted with different lenses for the occasion in hand as I'm then prepared for most things without swapping lenses. Although I used a Sony Camera in this case I usually carry a Canon 1Dx Mk2 and a 7D Mk2Feedback
Using a wide-angle lens up close and creating distortion to the subject can occasionally give you a completely different composition to the normal. It only takes a change in height, a tilt of the hand in most cases to get totally different composition whilst standing in the same spot.
