Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on an evening walk whilst working away from home. I always take my camera on work trips and try to find something that catches my eye wherever I go to photograph. Lincoln was decorated with bunting for St George’s Day and looked particularly quaint.

Time

The picture was taken in the early evening on a cloudy day in April.

Lighting

The sun had been shining, but by the time I managed to get out with my camera, there was a fairly thick layer of cloud settling across the sky.

Equipment

Taken hand held on my Nikon D810

Inspiration

The converging lines of the cobbled street and the multiple shades of grey in the old shop buildings drew me to this scene.

Editing

I lifted the shadows a little in post processing.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D810, a zoom lens, a wide angle lens and, if I have room, a tripod.

Feedback

I’m a hobby photographer, so I’m not confident to offer advice, except do what you enjoy.
