Maya Bay is sheltered by 100-metre high cliffs on three sides. Maya Bay has become the main tourist attraction of Phi Phi since 'The Beach' was partially filmed there in 1999. People around the world travel to visit, so many in fact that the constant influx of tourists is damaging the ecosystem, forcing Thai authorities to act and now close the area to tourists during parts of the year. A stunning spot!
