Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at a hotel restaurant in Laguna Beach, California.

Time

It was mid-day, and I was just eating some brunch.

Lighting

The lighting was all-natural; I was sitting outside.

Equipment

All I did was take out my phone and snapped a picture. My Canon T6i was back up in my room, so I didn’t use it.

Inspiration

The flower was just so perfect in its little vase, and I loved how symmetrical it was on both sides. Also, the perfect white shade was just gorgeous also.

Editing

Yes, I use a moblie version of Lightroom to snaz-up my iPhone pictures that need some extra love and care. I like to use it when I’m out on trips and I’m being too active and don’t want to carry my Canon around

In my camera bag

I do sometimes carry some attachable lenses for my iPhone, one is a wide-angled lense, and another is a macro lense.

Feedback

With flowers, the more symmetry they have, the better your close-up shot will be. I would use a DSLR with a macro lense if I had my Canon with me. Depending on what kind of look you prefer, the amount of detail a macro lense can bring is huge. If you want to shoot on your iPhone, try adjusting the exposure by holding down your finger when you focus, and dragging your finger tip up and down. With iPhone photos, using lightroom is the best tool I’ve had. Lightroom has always been incredible for my more professional shots, but has been a great trick up my sleeve when it comes to tweaking my iPhone pictures.
