I was frustrated that clouds were starting to roll in, blocking my view of the galactic core of the Milky Way rising over Whangarei Heads, when I realised that the clouds added something to the shot that was actually quite cool - the clouds directly above the headland continued the vertical line created by the light house two thirds into the photo. The bright warm coloured star is Antares, in the constellation Scorpio, which is a red supergiant nearing the end of its life.
