With just one afternoon to visit the world heritage site of Milford Sound, we were hoping for clear, bright weather. Instead, we got the rain so common at the fjord (over 300 days a year) and while we had to shelter from the wet and wait for mists to lift, we also witnessed the stunning magnificence of a thousand waterfalls, a veritable cascade surround.
