Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in upper loop of Yellowstone National Park, USA

Time

It was during the middle of the day . However huge dark clouds engulfed a large part of the sky making it look like dusk.It also started dripping a little and created this magical light.

Lighting

The shot was taken in natural light from inside the moving car. My friend was driving and I was busy capturing this beauty in nature. We were moving at a speed of around 60mph.

Equipment

No tripod , no flash was used.A nikon camera and lens was used. The moving car provided a good depth to the photo.

Inspiration

How could I resist a landscape like this in a dramatic situation like this. It was not planned at all. I was quick to take out the camera and frame the shot.

Editing

Nothing special.usual processing to remove noise, added a bit depth and drama using dodge and burn and some color correction.

In my camera bag

I was travelling through Yellowstone National Park and I always carry a versatile all around travel lens like 18-300mm so that I am ready for any possible opportunity which is not planned.

Feedback

When you are visiting a picturesque place like Yellowstone National Park where there are opportunities at every turn , always keep your eyes peeled and your hands ready on the trigger. Capture whatever feels you special and mesmerized.
