Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a forest that is spread across a very wide range of land. The special part of this forest is its location, which is inside a very big Urbanised settlement.

Time

The photo was taken in a hurry as the sun was setting down and the birds were flying away to their places. The time was around the golden hour. Nearly 4 PM in the evening.

Lighting

The lighting before this shot was quite good but due to the greenary it was not quite reachable to the ground. The trees covered the light from the sun making the area bit shady.

Equipment

The camera that I used was the Canon 700D. And the lens was the basic 55 -250 mm which I generally use for the zoom in shots.

Inspiration

The inspirations were from many sources. Some from the other photographers whereas some from the natural love. I primarily photograph nature. And birds being one of the most beautiful elements of nature pushed me forward to photograph birds and hence this kingfisher. This photograph and experience also made me start a project in birds wherein I wanted to showcase this admirable component of the mother nature.

Editing

Post processing is one of the most essential part of photography. Creating what you exactly wanted to see can be made possible through post processing. The post-processing in this photograph is done using Adobe Photoshop and the basic colour enhancements with other levels were maintained.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my basic camera with me along with the two lenses. The bag includes a 18 - 55 mm and a 55 - 250 mm lens.

Feedback

For these types of photographs, patience is the key. Keeping yourself calm makes you understand the element better. With better understanding, a very basic requirement is of the location. A prime location for these shots is the area with lots of greenary. The time also plays and important role.
