Once sure sign of spring in southeast Alaska is the return of the Swans! I hiked out into the Eagle River Valley this past week knowing the pair had returned for spring. On one hand, I was lucky to get this image of the swan with such a beautiful backdrop, but unlucky as the mate was just outside of the frame. It's always nice seeing these two return and spending time with them before summer!
