The Marquam Bridge at night. When the Marquam Bridge was built the Portland Arts Commission made a formal protest and even contacted Governor Mark Hatfield describing the bridge as, "so gross," and, "lacking in grace." I
have spent many hours driving home on this bridge stuck in what feels like a never ending traffic jam. While the bridge is not the most aesthetically pleasing it does get me home every day and when viewed from this perspective at night it becomes much more appealing.

I so like the fact that I can see turn signals. The "Safe driver" actions of Portland, OR (hate when we don't say which "Portland") make this even more appealing!

I grew up in the Portland area and so many of your images are not only superb but for me are a nice nostalgic tour. I live in Seattle now and have for many years but I still think of Portland and Oregon in general as home.
