Behind The Lens

Location

We were at Granite Lake, Sask,Canada, taking a walk when I saw this little fellow, he just posed in so many wonderful ways, not getting scared at all when we stopped to photograph him.I especially liked this shot as he looked like he was trying to lift the piece of bark.

Time

Taking a walk to the dock in the morning, this little guy was enjoying the morning sun,

Lighting

I never thought about the lighting, but the bright morning sunlight set it up beautifully creating shadows in the background while giving a nice bright fore ground.

Equipment

My camera is a Canon,SX60HS hand held , I very seldom use a tripod as I walk in the bush a lot and they are just too hard to carry!

Inspiration

I love to take wildlife photos, and this little squirrel provided an excellent opportunity , he was just so cute.

Editing

I usually just use the brightness and contrast and sometimes add a little saturation to enhance a shot,

In my camera bag

I just have the Canon SX60HS camera, it has a good zoom and I can sometimes hold it still to get a good shot!

Feedback

Animals can move quickly, so one has to have patience, take lots of shots, and you just may end up with a winner! with the new digital cameras, one can delete the ones that are no good. I like to talk to the animals in a soft calm voice to get their attention. Move slowly so as not to frighten them.
