Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in MN on some abandoned railroad tracks.

Time

It was about two in the afternoon.

Lighting

It's all natural lighting, since it was cloudy and snowing, there were no harsh shadows.

Equipment

I used a NikonD5100 and a 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

This was for a Tableau vivant assignment. The idea of telling a story was a challenge for me since most of the photos I had done prior were nature shots.

Editing

I shot the photo in RAW and then went into lightroom to help clean up some color and lighten up the photo a little.

In my camera bag

I have the Nikon D500 and the 35mm and 50mm lenses.

Feedback

Be willing and ready to shoot in weather that you weren't planning on. For me, the snow was a surprise but it really added to the photo.
