Flying foxes are large Australian Fruit Bat.They are a sighted bat,in fact they have good night sight.This little one fell off mums tummy when she landed one of our palm trees to feed on the ripe dates.,it was rescued a short time later,all's well.A adult has a wingspan of around 1mtr.A fascinating animal,They are also one of the few flying mammals !!

I love this! We have bats that come out here at night, but I've never been able to get a shot. Have to up my night shooting game or find a way to slow them down. ;) This is fantastic!
