Cannon 60D with a 18-135 zoom lense and a 31 mm extension tube.Inspiration
This was taken in early spring after a pretty cold winter for this area. The light on the tree was perfect. The sun was warm on my skin and my camera was nearby.Editing
I cropped this image slightly in post processing and did some minimal level adjustments to enhance the contrast. In my camera bag
While my usual setup involves the extension tube and my 18-135 lense. I also carry a 75-300 mm and a 50 mm lense. When working with people I have also found that my Nissin Di770A flash either on the camera or off.\ comes in handy.Feedback
The golden hour is when you want to be out and about. The time just after sunrise or just before sunset are usually the best for using natural lighting. The other pieces of advice that I give to people would be to always have your camera handy. Bring it with you when you go out. Leave it somewhere easy to get to when your at home. Situations that you may want to capture may only exist for a moment. Be ready for them.
