Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was actually taken in Squamish BC - just down the road where the Olympics were held in Whistler

Time

This was just after lunch in the afternoon. It is near a restaurant we go to every once and a while.

Lighting

We had just a bit of overcast - direct light from the Sun,

Equipment

Canon 1dx / Canon 300mm f4 lens No Tripod - Handheld - ISO 200 - 1/500th of a second

Inspiration

We we headed to the restaurant and the lighting on the bench struck my eye.. I lifted my camera and took a few shots. I really liked it more in Photoshop. I typically never over do it with PS. I clean up anything that should not be there.. but never 'change' the image. I think people do that too much on Viewbug.

Editing

Typically with an image like that I increase contrast just a bit and then add unshapr mask to increase the sharpness just enough to move past a digital sensor.

In my camera bag

Canon 1dx, 28-70 2.8L, 85mm 1.4 Sigma, 100mm 2.0 for Portraits, 50mm 1.4, 600 Series flashes from Canon. No Godox stuff. I also have a remote control for the camera

Feedback

If you have a long lens then don't look locally. Look 1000ft down the road and train yourself to 'see' differently.
