While the lake ground is dry and cracked, the Saane river eats through it and flows again in its gravelly bed, which remains hidden under the lake for most of the year. But when in spring - awaiting the melting snow - and a wonderfully wild, wide river in the heart of the canton of Fribourg gets visible... Until the water level raises... And hides everything... Again.
