Taken in captivity in Tasmania. This owl was unable to fly so this owl (female) was able to mate with wild masking owls by the cage having an opening in the mesh. This owl was assisting with repopulating the declining numbers as the fledgling would stay until big enough and then leave!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Tasmania, Australia. There is an amazing Wildlife Sanctuary, who saved this female Masked Owl who is in able to fly. However, they have access into her cage where male wild masked owl's visit and is helping the repopulation of this magnificent beauty.

Camera was a Canon with a Canon lens at the time.

Inspiration

I just lived how she was yawning and the fact she was captive but was still free as she could get visitors from the wild.

Editing

I don't adjust my photos, so what you see is how nature intended.

In my camera bag

Now I have a Mark 7d Canon with a Sigma telephoto lens. Amd I always have my Canon binoculars too.
