I wanted to experiment with using a snoot to get something dark and dramatic. The initial idea, came from a few different influences. One of which was an anime called Tokyo Ghoul where one of the characters has this cool red and black eye, so I wanted to incorporate that into my work. I used red grease paint, a speed light with a makeshift snoot and a little photoshop(for the eye) to achieve this photo. I would have loved to have used real Scolera contacts for this as I prefer more practical effects, but until I own a pair, I use the opportunity to practice some different photoshop techniques.
