Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken back in 2003. A friend took us on a tour of Norway fr. It was one of this favorite places and the lake had a number of structures submerged where people used to stay when they came to the mountains in the summer to tend the flocks. We saw many lush lakes in the mountain passes. Just a wonderful place to visit.

Time

It's been quite some time since I took the photo. It was on the drive back from Geiranger fjord, heading back to Bergen. If I recall correctly, this was early afternoon on a bit of an overcast day.

Lighting

The lighting wasn't great, but with that said, the

Equipment

In 2003, this would have been my old Canon Powershot, but I don't recall which one. Good little camera for my skills at the time.

Inspiration

The reflections were pretty amazing as I looked across the lake. I've got a number of shots, but what first caught my eye was the ability to see the submerged structures in the water. Small stone foundations of buildings. From there, I just kept snapping shots of the lake. This one was my favorite.

Editing

I didn't have an SLR at the time. This one is cropped from the original, and the greens were popped just a bit. The original file was less than 500k so, just a bit of processing.

In my camera bag

Using Canon, and for now it's a T2i that I'm hoping to upgrade soon. Any recommendations?

Feedback

I've been fortunate to see a bit of the world, and have friends willing to show me around. My friend knows I love photography so he mapped a trip to show me places he and his wife enjoyed the most. In this case though...I just got lucky.
