During a canoe ride on Lake Naivasha, Kenya, we witnessed a great variety of bird life and behaviors. Particularly captivating, the fishing technique of the black heron, which carefully spreads its wings to cast a full shadow over the aquatic organisms below, lulling them into a false sense of security and allowing the heron to seize the advantage and its unsuspecting prey.
