Pure Magic !!!
Gorgeous storytelling; this could easily be a scene taken right out of a book or movie.
There are more iconic places in Jackson Hole, this scene is just as worthy.
Superb work !

Behind The Lens

Location
This was taken in a field just outside of Jackson Wy. The farm house is an historic building which was under some remodeling.
Time
I arrived at 5:45 and spent 2 1/2 hours for the sun to get in the correct position. It was my first day on my first trip to Jackson hole. I have returned 3 times since. Love the place.
Lighting
The sun supplied the lighting, this was taken before HDR was popularized. I did try a blended shot with one picture for the high lights and a second for shadows but the one displayed was a single shot with some post processing to manage the contrast.
Equipment
Camera on this trio was a Nikon D2x and I shot this with the 28-70 mm f2.8. Tripod was a Manfrotto with a Accra Tech Ball . Nature supplied the lighting but it was impossible to control.
Inspiration
With the Grand Tetons in the background how could anyone resist taking the picture.
Editing
Post required bringing shadows up and mountain peaks were approaching blow out so they needed some darkening. Other than that it's as seen.
In my camera bag
Currently I shoot with either Nikon D5 or D850. People and studio work get D5 shots and nature or animals usually the D850. I have quite a few lenses and choose those most likely to be useful When flying. If I am driving I take most of my equipment with me. Tripods are the Manfrotto With a Gimbal head for long lenses (800mm and 200-400mm) and a Really Right stuff tripod With RRS ball head for 200mm on down.
Feedback
Be there early and patience were the key to this picture. Had I the time I would have scouted the area and been more aware of the suns travel time prior to shooting , but it was my first day and first trip so that was not possible. I was still on east coast time so the 5 o'clock wake up was not difficult.
