Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in my backyard. We had a very cold winter in Texas with frost. That’s as cold as it gets here. I covered up this plant to keep the frost off. Every now and then I would peek under the blanket to see if it was still blooming(it was). I shot this with my iPhone 6 with a macro lens attachment.

Time

The photo was taken at 0528 in the evening in February to catch the golden hour light

Lighting

No special lighting. Just the sunset.

Equipment

This was shot with an iPhone 6 and a clip on macro lens. Handheld.

Inspiration

I wanted to try out the macro lens just to see how much detail it would capture and how sharp it could be.

Editing

I did just a little post processing saturation on the petals because they were a little dull probably due to the lack of sun.

In my camera bag

I normally don’t shoot macro, just landscapes, but I wanted to try macro to see if I wanted to invest in a macro lens for my Nikon.

Feedback

Since shooting the Daisy, I have taken other pictures of flowers, it has opened up a whole new world. I never knew a flower could be so interesting with so much detail.
