Location
This photo was taken in the backyard or our neighbor's house. I was looking for places to take pics of my boys, as her yard is huge and beautiful! As I was wandering around I turned and saw my 5 yr old on the swing and I just snapped a quick pic because I thought it was so sweet. I didn't even realize how amazing it turned out until I looked at it later that day. It's one of my favorite pictures!!Time
It was midday, I think, and the sun was out but the many giant trees provided lots of shade. Plus we live in California so it's usually pretty nice out most of the time.Lighting
I loved the way the sunlight came through the trees just perfectly to spotlight the focus on my son.Equipment
I took this with my iPhone 6 Plus I had the time and used the black and white setting. I added just a slight blurred effect on the trees to further draw the attention to my son on the swing.Inspiration
My favorite shots are candid moments captured when the subject isn't posing for me. Shooting my son on the swing from behind just further resonated the feeling of childhood innocence to me.Editing

I was using my phone just to get some quick shots to help me determine what spots I wanted to use later with my two boys for the actual shoot. It was a spontaneous moment that I just wanted to capture without thinking about all of the technical aspects and it ended up turning out better than a lot of other "planned" shots I take. And one I will cherish forever.
