This beautiful cock Redpoll got me quite excited since I thought it could be an arctic species coming as a rare vagrant to our part of the World (Northern Germany). Experts, however reckon that since its breast coloring is so intense it is probably just a more common North-East European of the 'flammea' type. Sitting there in the falling snow it is one of my favorites for this year too.
