One of our favorite blue pit pup to photograph. He always knows when I drive up or walk into a room.

Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in Turner, Oregon. This is baby “Bolt”.

Time

Photo was taken at 5 PM in Summer.

Lighting

Was taken in full sun and no editing was used in this photo.

Equipment

I was sitting on chair in backyard with my Nikon D5400, with a telephoto lens 55-200. Waiting for Bolt to settle down so I could take some still photos.

Inspiration

He is a silly pup, long legs and clumsy. I waited until he laid down in the grass and called his name. He looked over his shoulder and I snapped the shot.

Editing

No post processing on this photo.

In my camera bag

I have several different sizes of lenses, but when I take photos of animals I like to use the 55-200 lens for close-up photos.

Feedback

There is a time and place for photo shots. If you are patient, that time will be rewarding. I waited over an hour before I got the photo I wanted here. My philosophy is that you can’t take enough photos. For every 50 taken, you might have one that turns out to be magnificent. Keep taking photos!
