I took this photo while canoeing at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas with my family.Time
This is just one of the photos I took this particular special day. We were on a time crunch, racing over to the local canoe/kayak rental shop before they shut it down for the day. Canoeing was one of the activities we all wanted to partake in on this day and we managed to make it right around 4pm!Lighting
What started off as a beautiful sunny afternoon upon arrival was soon becoming a windy, overcast, fast flowing river with a side of drizzle, raining down from above! Which then made rowing back to home base a scary difficult task! We had one (what felt like) near flip-over scare Rising against the current, before being saved by the lovely family pictured in this photo and helped back to dry land!! Yay!Equipment
I shot this with my bare hands on a Nikon Coolpix L830 f/4.3 1/160 15.30mm ISO 400Inspiration
This particular afternoon was the FIRST time in five years that my daughter, my granddaughter (both in photo) and I had reunited with my son since his move to California! I was complete! My kids, granddaughter + soon to be grandson (my sons first child) & their loved ones. A full family reunion! Little did we know Jr. would surprise us about a week later...Editing
I changed the original colored photo to a black and white photo. In my camera bag
Honestly I've yet to own a DSLR professional grade camera so for the last 5 plus years I have my Nikon Coolpix L830 camera, plenty of rechargeable batteries, battery charger, memory cards, lens cleaner/wipes.Feedback
Professional photographer or not I shoot every shot with passion even if it means snapping the subject multiple times until I've got it. In this case I saw, followed and moved along with the flow of the river in my canoe to capture the little beauty in the middle, my granddaughter asks was blessed to get all three!
