Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at 4pm on a cold snowy Michigan afternoon. This was on my porch.Time
I took this photo around 4pm or so as my cat, Buddy, has a habit of wanting in and out. I happened to glance out and see the fresh snow fall.Lighting
The lighting was perfect for this photo in the instance of soft but intense lighting. The freshly falling snow provided an ample opportunity to use natural reflective lighting. I love how the softness of the light enhanced the intensity of the snowflakes.Equipment
I used a Nikon D70 no speedlight, no tripod. I used a standard lens. I really enjoy the artistic images I am able to create using this camera.Inspiration
I wanted the viewer to see the world from my cats perspective. He constantly wants in and out no matter the weather. I wanted to capture the raw beauty of co harmony in nature.Editing
I simply adjusted the raw image to provide more contrast and bump up highlights in able to bring out the detail of the snow.In my camera bag
I always carry my trusty,rusty, Nikon D70.Feedback
Do not be afraid to accomadate your subject. I find treats and laying lens to eye pretty effective. Have fun. Create.
