Behind The Lens

Location

I was visiting family in Bloomfield CA in the spring. It is one of my most favorite places to photograph. Its an older community, rolling hills , dairy farms, and the Ocean is just down the road from my brothers house. Lots of great places to photograph. Old dairy farms, Historic buildings. I always get up when its dark, and drive around the back country roads, and see that first light. I saw the Quail as I turned on to an intersection, I backed the vehicle up, with camera in hand, stopped the car, and carefully stood up on the running board and snapped the shot! I was so thrilled the Quail did not fly off!

Time

First Light of the day.

Lighting

The most perfect light as there was fog to illuminate the soft hues of pink making a stunning pastel back drop

Equipment

Just my trusty Cannon 40D No Flash, no tripod.

Inspiration

I always look for wild life, scenic shots and its always a surprise every time I go out to shoot!

Editing

None It did not need any!!

In my camera bag

Lots of CF Cards and batteries I very rarely take a tripod, unless its a wedding.

Feedback

Get up early !! Look around you , even if your in a vehicle and you see something that catches your eye, and go back to that area , evening is also a great time as the sun starts to set. There is always something to photograph, I go out on the road with my husband in his Semi and get some great shots, crisscrossing the US.
