Location
This photo of my beautiful wife Andrea (then girl friend), was taken in front the Vestrahorn mountain in Iceland.Time
This was taken under an overcast noon-ish sky, early in the month of March. The overcast sky acted as a giant light diffuser, eliminating any harsh exposures.Lighting
A cloudy day is your friend when it comes to landscape photography. From moody skies, to diffused soft light, a cloudy day will bring you great conditions for outdoor photos.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5D III with a 24-105mm lens.Inspiration
Andrea is always so patient with me when I get lost in my camera. She also makes a great model in my photos as a point of interest, and scale for the surrounding landscape.Editing
Minimal processing on this one. Lighting was near perfect. Added some contrast and light sharpening since it was shot in RAW format. In my camera bag
Canon 5D III, 24-105 f4, 16-35 f4, 70-200 f2.8, maybe my 100-400 lens if shooting wildlife. Sometimes my Mavic 2 Pro drone depending on where I'm going, and flying is possible.Feedback
Models in your landscape shots really increase the drama for sense of scale. It dosen't hurt when said person is over the moon happy just to be there and soak in the moment.
