The Twin Screw Steamer Janie Seddon sits derelict off the Motueka foreshore and has been a feature of the local seascape for years. Her significance to the region is that she was the first fishing boat purchased by the Talley's fishing group. After sinking at her moorings, she was left to rot at her current location. The Janie Seddon was originally bought by the New Zealand government as a military vessel. She is the last surviving New Zealand military ship to have served in both World Wars.
