This young Axis Buck with an impressive set of antlers growing was a little shy, but I managed to capture him when I whistled. His antlers are just growing and are velvet encased still. He will probably scrape of his velvet soon and start jousting with other bucks in the area as their rut season begins. I'm not sure of the cycle, but I do know its off from the whitetail deer cycle for mating and reproduction.
