Location
This was taken during a short visit to London, specifically to shoot a couple of models I wanted to work with.Time
The great thing about working in studio with studio flash is the time of day doesn't matter! Nor does the weather. This could have been taken at midday in July in Spain, or at midnight in February in Iceland! (It was taken on a hot and sunny Tuesday afternoon in London)Lighting
Studio strobes give great creative control over lighting.Equipment
This was taken with a Nikon D90 (still one of my favourite cameras ever) and a Sigma 24-105 f4 Art lens. This is still my workhorse lens and I use it for 90% of my shoots.Inspiration
The female form is beautiful. An experienced creative model is a wonderful collaborator. Both inspire creation.Editing
The only post processing is some Lightroom adjustments to exposure, highlights & shadows. And a B&W conversion with a little toning of course! In my camera bag
Currently have a Nikon D750 but still have the Sigma 24-105 semi-permanently attached. I recently added a Fuji X-T20 with an 18-55 f2.8-4 lens for travelling with, as the Nikon gear can be a bit heavy and bulky, especially when I'm flying with just hand luggage.Feedback
Respect the models you work with. Also respect their experience and be willing to treat every shoot as a collaboration even if it's your shoot. Your photographs will show the benefit.
