The first of a very productive trip up to the Lakes and pretty much my first decent few days shooting of 2018, and gave the me the chance to try out the new Nisi filter system that I've gone for, gotta say they blow the Lee ones away! ! The weather was meant to be awful looking at the previous week, however that changed thankfully and some of the best weather I've had up there appeared instead.
This was sunrise at Derwentwater, although there was no real cloud as such to give a canvas for the light, the light coming down onto the fells and onto Derwent Isle was just superb, along with a nice still lake made me lean towards this type of symmetrical image doing away with any foreground, just shoved the histogram as far to the right as was possible which has helped to give this painterly type of feel to the image.
It took a few attempts to get it how I wanted it due to the geese that kept deciding to swim or fly into the frame, thankfully the lure of the Keswick boathouse opening and potential food lured them away.
