I am a passionate photographer, always travelling to discover the world with my family and my camera who is part of my family, allowing me to depict what I explore, see, feel to share with my audience. I have captured this photo while visiting Paris' most frequented touristic spot (the Eiffel Tower), when my daughter's first expression was "Ah! so majestic", then I have said to myself that I have to show my audience this specific expression through linking it to its heritage side and that is why I have decided to show it in a monochromatic style.Time
It was a late afternoon of December, very ideal to capture reflections and shadows of the majestic Eiffel Tower.Lighting
The lighting condition has allowed me to accentuate the composition with a strong contrast between the tourists and the structure of the tower to try and show as much realistic scale between humans and gigantic structures that were man-made constructed with heritage spirit.Equipment
Nikon D-810 body AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm F2.8G ED lensInspiration
History and heritage of such unique and large scale of the structure dating back to the 1800s being totally man-made, adding to the latter my daughter's first expression when we have reached the tower "Ah! so majestic"Editing
I have converted the shot from a coloured into a monochromatic one which was the intention while capturing the scene, since I believe that it will be better expressed in black & white to better focus on the scale, contrast, as well as on the deep metallic micro contrast. In my camera bag
I have this rule to feel as comfortable and as focused as possible by researching a day ahead of my trip and to carry with me only one camera and one lens without any tripod (I often use my camera bag to cushion / stabilise on any structure I encounter).Feedback
To keep the gear simple and to compose as you feel in a very simplistic way....Simplicity is always a beauty.
