Behind The Lens

Location

Como point Yamu, Thailand. This was after I had just checked in, and the hotel personnel was showing me in to my room. When we just made a left to go towards the room, this orange circle lead by other shapes seem to open a strange beautiful world geometrical mystic to me.

Time

This was just at the start on the noon or may be a little later. Sun was just across, shining through the windows creating sparkles on the ocean and I still remember I had to lower my shades to avoid squinting.

Lighting

It is rather interesting that the only lights that were there around was the light beams you see on the foreground on each side. However, what is to note is the tunnel had small diamond shapes which bring in light through the lower open floor and upper ground windows.

Equipment

Honestly I would have loved to capture this with my camera; however, I just used pulled out my phone which was handy at that time.

Inspiration

The synchrony of colors and shapes and the dance of lights and shadows made me look at the orange circle what could symbolize the Sun.

Editing

I did crop and adjust the tilt to bring the horizon straight. Not much apart from tat.

In my camera bag

Canon Mark iii and 24-70 for sure. Apart from that, I take additional lenses depending on the kind of pictures I want to take. I like experimenting with natural light and shadows mostly.

Feedback

Bring your camera and the lens you want to use to capture a particular image at that moment. Do not let the thought 'let me come back and get it'. That rarely happens. Carpe Diem it is.! :-)
