Valley of Fire is an incredible playground for the photographer, offering endless compositions in swirling sandstone formations. One of my more favorite locations is the Fire Wave; and as you can see, this is not the classic view. I prefer to shoot this area as a panorama looking into the sunset. I have shot this composition before but have always felt it needed the human element to add scale and tell more of the photographer’s relationship with the landscape.
