Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my living room using natural light from my window, she was asleep on top of a brown blanket.

Time

It was probably around 11AM, maybe 12.

Lighting

Natural light is my favorite light source, I’m always shooting with it.

Equipment

This specific photo was taken with a Canon Rebel T5, 50mm 1.8, but I’ve since upgraded my gear.

Inspiration

I wanted to capture a photo I could recreate for years to come with my daughter.

Editing

Not at all.

In my camera bag

Now I have Canon 6D Mark II with a 135mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.8. I’ve sold my less utilized lenses.

Feedback

Make sure your background is smooth, no creases or spots that may cause distractions, you want to stay close to the subject and maybe even have an extra set of hands, photographing small children can be difficult, especially if they twitch or move suddenly, they can fall.
