Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a local carnival in Upstate New York. The carnival lights with the vibrant sky were impossible to pass up.

Time

This is one of my favorite photos, not just the wonderful colors but it’s ability to instantly take someone back to a summer evening, the smell of fried dough and cotton candy with the sound of games vibrating around. A perfect still shot of a night people can still feel.

Lighting

Dusk in Upstate New York has its own magical glow to it, combined with the carnival lights it all quite literally lit up the sky.

Equipment

This photo was shot with just my iPhone, I was enjoying my time at a carnival waiting for fireworks and I could not leave the fairgrounds without this picture.

Inspiration

Moments make the picture. Carnivals are filled with magical moments. Children winning prizes, young couples falling in love, elderly couples falling in love all over again, all around wonderful feelings and those feelings needed to be captured in one enchanting moment.

Editing

This photo speaks volumes and needed only minor post-processing sharpening and moderate enhancement to make the colors shine.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS Rebel T6, a macro lens, a wide angle lens, extra memory cards and a flash.
